Winter growing season
Winter growing season
The winter growing season gets underway with winter cabbages (top of blog). See pics on flickr. The British climate is not always kind to crops and gardeners have found ways to cope with this limitation: for example, growing under glass at the beginning of the year and a wide range of robust crops for the autumn and winter months.
Clearing leaves from the grass paths.
Slugs have been particularly active this year.
Cabbage leaves make good soup but these ones will make good compost.
Plenty of colour yet in the garden.
