Welcome to The Environment Trust for Richmond upon Thames
We are an established landscape and buildings conservation charity with 26 years' experience in caring for places and connecting to people of all ages and backgrounds across the Borough of Richmond and the wider London area. Our purpose is to preserve and conserve open green spaces, wildlife and the best of the built environment, and to raise awareness of the issues that affect their survival. We want to enhance all people’s lives through inclusion, volunteering, education and learning.

Art Auction Raises over £12,000 for Trust Projects!

This year's Art Auction on 10 November had a splendid turnout, with fantastic support from the borough's art lovers. 'We may be a little short of last year’s record', said Chairman Jenny Pearce, 'but in these difficult times we feel we have achieved a small miracle. We couldn’t have done it without the continued generosity of local artists as well as those more established artists who so generously donated their work for the benefit of the Trust. The proceeds will help support our wide-ranging work in environmental education and volunteering, as well as practical conservation projects.'
Amongst the big sellers were works by Mary Fedden, Chris Orr, Allan Halliday and Anthea Craigmyle as well as Liz Knutt, Anne Swankie and Jill Storey's featured picture of Twickenham Farmers' Market. There was a lot of interest in the original artwork for the poster for last May’s popular children’s lecture event ‘Newts Coots and Muddy Boots' - a cartoon of the Trust’s patron Sir David Attenborough, signed and captioned by him.
Giclee prints of Newts, Coots and Muddy Boots are available unmounted for £20.00, and a few prints of Jim Woodman's Richmond Bridge, the highlight picture of 2010, are available unmounted for £25.00. Please contact the office for details.
Past glories: Great River Race, Saturday 17 September - a splendid finish!
Despite rain, hail, gusty headwinds and other incidents, the Environment Trust team made good time in the Skerry, and finished well up the rankings.

While the Trust's land-based team were holding the annual reception for the mayors of riparian boroughs and others, water-lovers were rowing to raise sponsorship funding for Trust projects. Please give your backing to the team and make a donation via our justgiving page at www.justgiving.com/GreatRiverRace11 !
