What is included in the meal ticket?
The venue, the Richmond Yacht Club on Eel Pie Island, will be set up as a restaurant, with about 10 chairs per table. Some people have booked a single ticket, others have booked up to 6. So you can come on your own or with friends - it's entirely up to you. There are also benches and tables out on the decking, which has lovely uninterrupted views of the river. Your seat is yours for the entirety of the evening - it is not timed - so relax, eat, and be merry!
On arrival we will help you find a table and serve you a free aperitif while you start nibbling on the sharing plates, meet the other guests and take in the wonderful river views (see pics below).
During the evening you will be presented with a generous tasting menu of approximately 11 individual dishes (see draft menu above) created using many locally produced and sourced ingredients. Please take time to look at our sponsors page to see all the local producers and business who have very generously donated to this event.
We are running a reasonably priced cash bar stocked with English wines from Denbies Vineyard in Dorking, Twickenham Fine Ales award-winning beers and soft drinks.
Every guest will also receive a goody bag packed with freebies (some edible!) donated by local businesses.
Our patron the actress Helen Baxendale will be hosting the evening, a local skiffle band will be playing an acoustic set on the decking and we’ll be running a raffle including a star prize signed by Sir David Attenborough.
Have we won you over? We hope to see you there! Click here to book
All proceeds from this event will support local environmental projects run by the Environment Trust.
Being a seasonal tasting event, the final details of what you’ll get to enjoy from Richmond Borough's small producers will be confirmed closer to the event. Below is a draft menu to whet your appetite. As you can see, there are plenty of vegetarian options.
