Learn how to interview, record and edit people talking about why they love their local park. Join us to take part in the Stories of Our Park project. For three days over spring 2016, you can learn new skills, make new friends and find out more about your local area.

The Stories of Our Park aims to celebrate Kingston's parks by gathering stories of why local people use their parks and what they love about them. We will be focusing on Canbury Gardens in central Kingston.

If you are aged between 16 and 24 years old and live, work or study in Kingston come and join us for a three-day project over spring 2016.

We will train you to:

  • interview and record park users
  • edit footage to create an audio archive
  • plan how to promote your work

We will work at Canbury Gardens pavilion situated inside the park and throughout the park.

Joining Young Place Shapers to run the training are experts from Digital Drama - a local multimedia production company.

Saturday 19 March is the first of three training and work sessions for this Stories of Our Park project. The other two sessions are on Wednesday 30 March and Saturday 16 April.

We would like participants to take part in all three sessions.
