River Thames Clean Up Saturday November 15th 1-4pm
Come and join the Environment Trust as we clean up the River Thames upstream of Richmond Bridge. The annual draw-off event, when the water upstream of Richmond Lock is allowed to recede to its natural level, allows us to access areas of the river that under normal conditions would be under water. For the last few years we've been gradually moving upstream to remove accumulated rubbish from the foreshore. This has been so successful that we've now reached the bend in the river near to Glover's Island. This can be a muddy event, but then again, some people can't get enough of it.
This year there were no favourable tides on a Saturday morning in November, so the event will begin at 1pm, and will continue until around 3.30 or 4pm (sunset is at 4.11pm).
Meet at the slipway just upstream of Richmond Bridge on the Middlesex side of the river, i.e. NOT the Richmond town centre side.
