Sir David Attenborough in Surrey Life Magazine

Topic: The Environment Trust

by Stephen James

After Sir David Attenborough's inspiring "Wild Neighbours" lecture at the Rose Theatre in Kingston on 16th May this year, Surrey Life's Caroline Harrap wrote about Sir David:

"We’re tucked away backstage in a dressing room at Kingston’s Rose Theatre and, in a scarily short amount of time, Sir David Attenborough, the godfather of natural history programmes, is due to take to the stage to give his annual lecture for the local Environment Trust – after hopefully granting us an interview. Problem is, this also means a car journey from his home on Richmond Green, down the busy A307, and into the throng of bumper-to-bumper Saturday afternoon shoppers heading into Kingston town centre. I try not to think about that and focus instead on willing time to stop. " Read the full Surrey Life article here.

Notice the Environment Trust poster in the background of the picture. Axel Scheffler, who drew “The Gruffalo”, kindly donated this work to advertise the lecture.

As a local resident of world renown and a champion of the natural world, Sir David Attenborough has generously donated his time and skills to deliver the annual lecture for the Environment Trust for the past five years.
