Art Auction 2015
Melissa Scott-Miller, Cats in Garden
Time Off is the theme inspiring artists offering their work for this year’s Environment Trust Art Auction.
The ever popular local event, to be held on Thursday 26 November in the run up to the Christmas, should provide lots of inspiration for those who love to give and receive art.
Many unusual images in a variety of media, including watercolour, oil, acrylic, linocuts and etchings, are expected to be big sellers at the Auction, which features the work both of prominent local artists and those who are nationally known.
The final number of lots is expected to reach around forty. Prices for individual pieces may start from as little as £20 and some may achieve well over £1,500.
All profits will go to the Trust, supporting current projects including The Story of our Streets, encouraging children and young people to understand more about the history of their local area and Active Environment, enabling adults with disabilities to discover and enjoy local places of interest.
Says auctioneer and fine art dealer, John Iddon: “We are, as ever, indebted to our artists who so generously donate their work to help the work of the Trust. Because it is an auction, amazing bargains are to be had on the night – there are some wonderful paintings''.
Last year the Auction raised almost £13,000.
