The Twickenham Challenge

On Monday 9th October 2006, the Richmond upon Thames borough cabinet decided that the Environment Trust’s River Centre would be the chosen project to be incorporated in the Twickenham Baths development! This decision is the culmination of a 3-year council challenge for community-focused organisations to propose a use for the site that would benefit the local community. More details of the Twickenham Challenge are available on the council’s website at www.richmond.gov.uk/twickenhamriverside. You can read a summary of the cabinet meeting at which councillors decided to adopt the River Centre on Twickenham Online. You can also read the Leader’s Report to the Cabinet: Twickenham Riverside – next steps (110kb PDF), which was discussed at the Council Cabinet meeting on 12 March 2007.

To find out more about the Environment Trust’s proposal, take a look at the following slides from the presentation that we made to the cabinet in September (you can also download the whole presenation as a 437kb PDF).
