Young Place Shapers at work

Topic: Young Place Shapers

by Rachel Monaghan

It's been a busy few weeks for Young Place Shapers. A group came together during the Easter holidays to plant native, bee- and insect-friendly wildflower seeds at Canbury Gardens on a super sunny morning. With fantastic support from Quadron - who provide park services to the Royal Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames - and visits from lots of locals, everyone got down to work.

The beds had been kindly prepared for us and 'all' we had to do was tidy the area, wheelbarrow in loads of compost, mix the seeds with sand, sow them and rake them in. With a lunchtime deadline approaching, we just managed to complete all our tasks!

Make sure you take a trip down Kings Passage in July to see just how beautiful the flowers look.
