Leave a lasting legacy for tomorrow’s environment

By leaving a gift to the Environment Trust in your will, you are helping the Trust’s work to continue by engaging people in improving, preserving and protecting their local environment.

The Environment Trust started 30 years ago and with your generous help we will continue working for the environment not just for another 30 years but far into the future.

Our values

We believe that:

• the local environment is important and deserves improvement, preservation and protection
• it is only through the active engagement of the whole community that the environment can be improved, preserved and protected
• enjoying the local environment has a positive impact on the lives of the community

Our objectives

1. We will promote community involvement and responsibility by providing opportunities for learning and volunteering

2. We will identify and run carefully selected and pragmatic projects that improve, preserve and protect:

a. historic buildings, ancient monuments and conservation areas

b. historic gardens, open spaces and waterways

c. plants, animals and habitats

3. We will build a sustainable and flexible Environment Trust which represents everyone in the community

How to leave a gift in your will

You can leave the Environment Trust a share of your estate, a sum of money, or a specific item. Because we are a charity, the value of your gift will be deducted by HM Revenue and Customs from the value of your estate before any inheritance tax liability is calculated – so what might have had to be paid in tax can instead be diverted directly to ideas that change and improve the environment.
