Our Patrons

We are delighted to have the public support and backing of our patrons. Their roles vary but in each case they speak on our behalf in their spheres of influence. They help us achieve more than we would alone.

Sir David Attenborough
Sir David is known to all of us and is perhaps one of the world’s greatest environmentalists. Each year he chairs the Environment Trust Lecture.

Gordon Buchanan
Wildlife film maker noted for his contributions to Big Cat Diary, Springwatch and his most recent series Gorilla Family and Me.

Sir Donald Insall
Sir Donald is a British architect, conservationist and author, who has been described as "one of the leading conservation architects of his generation. He founded architectural the conservation practice Donald Insall Associates.

Bamber Gascoigne
Bamber is a British television presenter and author, best known for being the original quizmaster on University Challenge.

Zac Goldsmith, MP
Zac is the Conservative Member of Parliament for Richmond Park. He has been on the Environmental Audit Committee since 2010.

Axel Scheffler​
Axel is the best-selling illustrator of many favourite children’s picture books, including the award-winning The Gruffalo. Born in Hamburg, West Germany, Axel moved to England in 1982 and studied at the Bath Academy of Art. He now lives in Richmond, where he works from his attic studio.

Helen Baxendale

Helen has worked extensively in television and theatre. Credits include Cardiac arrest, Cold Feet, Truth or Dare, An Unsuitable job for a Woman, Friends and most recently, Cuckoo.
