John Anderson - Chairman

|
Most of my career as a HQ civil servant was about the future. In a variety of strategy and policy roles I was given jobs where change was wanted and tight deadlines were the norm. This continued in working for a local council in a big change programme going across the whole organisation.
I was very pleased when in 2008 I got the chance to join the Trust and apply that experience to help support it in a period of transition. Climate change and other environmental issues are common currency. I want to make sure the Trust builds on its reputation and looks forward to fulfilling a powerful role here and elsewhere in the future. The Trust is fundamentally about tomorrow.

Tim Little - Vice Chairman

|
Tim is a business consultant and mentor specialising in Investors in People and communication technologies. He has spent much of his career working in the field of organisational development for companies such as Oracle Corporation and Cap Gemini Sogati. He now also works with small and medium sized businesses. He joined the trust because of his interest in using our valuable resources wisely and locally.
Cycling helps him to keep fit but could do better; doing a degree in history stops him from watching too much television; and aspiring to be an artisan baker of bread is slowly becoming a reality.

Jim Horan - Secretary

|
I have 34 years experience in finance in the business sectors of the oil industry, computing and construction. Most recently I spent 15 years working as the Finance Director and Company Secretary of the Building Research Establishment (BRE). My career has included all elements of running successful commercial companies.
BRE is renowned for its expertise in conservation and improvement in the impact of the built environment. The BRE group is controlled by a charitable trust and the profits generated by the commercial subsidiaries are used to fund research into all aspects of the built environment. This has raised my interest in conserving, and utilizing to the maximum, the best of our cultural heritage in west and south west London. I wish to make the Trust more successful in it activities and in particular tapping in to the areas that it has not yet been able to exploit. This will ensure that west London remains a fantastic place to live.

Heather McGrath Alcock

As a heritage professional with a MSc in Heritage Conservation and over ten years’ experience in the planning, assessment, sustainable adaptive use and restoration of buildings and sites, I share the Environment Trust's passion for special places. My project portfolio covers primarily 19th and 20th-century properties, including theatres, hospital buildings, residential buildings and conservation districts, house museums and professional buildings.
I am an active volunteer for the Kingston branch of the National Childbirth Trust (NCT), currently serving as the Deputy Chair and Volunteer Coordinator. I gave up my position as branch Events Planner to make time for the ET! The NCT Kingston Branch is a large (over 1000 members) and dynamic branch and I have enjoyed working on a wide range of projects to support expectant mums and new parents in the borough.
I hope to bring my enthusiasm, heritage conservation professional experience and volunteering know-how to the ET to help with audience development and to support on-going and future heritage projects.

Sally Gray

I have lived in Kingston on and off for 30 years. I have over 14 years’ experience in the field of Human Resources, in the private and public sector and consulting.
My work has ranged from some of world's most complex HR Transformation and strategic change projects to smaller coaching roles. I have set up my own company to work with organisations to advise on people and sustainability challenges. I have strong business skills based on many years working in consultancy and in setting up my own business. I am by nature a ‘project manager’ and I have a ‘get on and get things done’ attitude.
I have used my sporting side (I do Triathlons – training in Richmond Park and Ham Lake) to personally raise over £3,000 for charity. Having long been interested in sustainability, I am due to start an MSc in Sustainability and Change at Ashridge Business School. Becoming a trustee has been the perfect opportunity for me to bring my experience and interests to the Environment Trust and get closer to the community.
