Brunel University site. The Trust was asked to comment on the proposals by Octagon Homes for this large and beautiful riverside site downstream of Richmond Lock. We were particularly concerned about the survival of listed Gordon House, several buildings of Townscape Merit, and the many exceptional trees. Richmond Council produced a stringent planning brief clearly defining its requirements, including a new pedestrian route through the site from St Margarets Road to the River, and opening up views through the site. Residents called for a continued educational use in the form of a new school, but this was not made a requirement of the brief.
