Hot Issues
Richmond is going through a period of intense
development activity partly as a result of the pressure from central
government to concentrate building on existing urban areas to protect
the green belt, but also because of the attractions of the borough as
a place to live.
With its aim to conserve the natural assets and well-loved architecture
of the borough, the Trust is contributing in different ways to help
achieve the best possible outcomes for sites undergoing change, and
to help ensure that changes to the Borough's Unitary Development Plan
(link to borough website) are to the benefit of the environment.
